Belly dance in Folkets Park

Hello sweets!

Just uploaded a new clip with belly dance on YouTube. I thought it was about time. I have 50 videos on my computer to upload. Better late than never, right?

This clip is from a Turkish festival in Folkets Park in Malmö. The event was arranged by a Turkish organization and music & song by Timur Sakka. The performance is completely improvised. It was very relaxed  since Timur and I worked together at restaurants and other events with belly dance for 15 years. You can almost see how we both are chilling on stage, him with his keyboard and me with my dance steps. It’s always nice when musicians and dancers can be on stage relaxed together.

By the way, it was quite chilly outside, so I have double skirts and a top with sleeves with my belly dance costume. The belly dance costume is, by the way, from a Turkish designer and is a mix of several belly dance costumes that I had at home. The idea was that the dance costume would match the colors of the Turkish flag with some black.

Here comes the video clip with belly dance – enjoy!

Our classes in oriental dance

Our classes in oriental dance

Hello girls!

A new semester awaits with courses in oriental dance at Dansöz. Since several of you wanted to dance more than one day a week, there will be two course days a week this semester. This means a total of six different courses in Oriental dance. I have tried to mix different styles and levels so that all members can get as much of the schedule as possible.

A course I really recommend is “Beginner Plus”. This course is aimed at those who have already taken a beginner’s course or even several courses. See this course as a opportunity to intensively train the next level of the basic steps. For example, the basic step “twist” we will train in several different ways than the basic movement. It can be traveling, with different accents and shimmies.

To those of you who are performing or just want to advance with impressive technique, I recommend “Wow factor”. Here I will teach belly dance show technique that one usually does not have time to learn on a 10-week course that includes a choreography. It can be spins, hair tossing or backbends etc.

No matter what you are craving for, I hope that you have not missed our discount since it is actually if I can say it myself, absolutely fantastic. I wish something like this was when I went and took courses in oriental dance. For those of you who missed it, the discount will come here:

1 course in oriental dance 750: –

2 courses in oriental dance 1000: –

3 courses in Oriental dance 1400: –

4 courses in Oriental dance 1800: –

We have extended each lesson by 10 minutes and put a break between each lesson so the groups do not interfere with each other. Another novelty for the next semester is that we have got a new floor in the dance hall!

Really looking forward to meeting you all and starting these courses. If you can’t wait until February then you can register for my workshop in oriental dance with veil on January 28th.

Belly dance costumes

Belly dance costumes

Got some questions about our belly dance costumes from dancers who wonder about our collection. I myself usually wear higher quality costumes with a higher price tag and that category will be in the bazaar.

But consciously, I have chosen to include the categories I call “Student costume” and “Semi pro costume” because the idea of the shop is that we want to spread oriental dance and be an asset for ALL dancers, not just professional dancers who have a high budget to spend on a belly dance costume. We also want the student who performs for the first time to be able to find a belly costume in our collection.

We sell belly dance costumes for student shows at budget prices and designer belly dance costumes for professional performances. The idea is that with us all belly dancers should be able to find the right belly dance costume. We sell both used and new belly dance costumes.

In our collection there are costumes at a low budget price (usually from Asia) that works well for student shows & Haflas. We also sell professional belly dance costumes from Turkey, Egypt, Russia, etc. for those who want finer materials and higher quality.

A professional belly dance costume usually costs between 3000-9000kr with a designer. As with all other fashion, it is the material, quality and design that makes the price tag. A designer belly dance costume usually have sewn on AB crystals, lots of handwork, strong stitches and are made of durable material that can handle sweat and movement of the body.

We describe our belly dance costumes with the following names (from lowest quality to highest quality);

  • Student belly dance costume
  • Semipro belly dance costume
  • Professional belly dance costume
  • Designer belly dance costume

We also describe the material so you can decide what kind of belly dance costume that suits you best.

Do you want to order another size or color? Or are you a dance group who wants to order more belly dance costumes than we have in stock? Contact us with the image of the belly dance costume and describe what you want. Many of our suppliers can make custom orders.
